Here's what we have planned right now...
- What: A huge, FREE spread of some of the best Greek food in Portland, along with a no-host bar.
- When: Election Night, November 4, 2008, from 5pm until it's over.
- Where: The Greek Cuisina, 404 SW Washington Street, Portland, OR 97204. At the corner of SW 4th and SW Washington downtown. Look for the giant purple octopus.
- Why: To either toast a brand new beginning for our crippled democracy or bid goodbye to the country we once loved.
- What to expect:
- Great Greek food
- Election Returns on 5 TV screens
- Big, big bar
- Lots of interesting and probably like-minded people
- Way too much political wonking!
- Surprises! Surprises! Surprises!

- Menu Update:
We always knew it was going to be great, but now we know exactly what we'll be having. The menu for the bash will be...
Hummus, Tsatsiki, Pita Bread, Spanakopita, Chicken Strips, and Fried Kalamari.
Aside from the bar offerings, we'll also be having coffee, tea, and probably lemonade.
OOPA! (Cheers!)
- What about kids?
We've been asked by a lot of people if the Bash will be "kid friendly". The answer is YES! The party is a private venue, so the OLCC will not have the alcohol issues it would if it were open to the public. If you've got kids, bring 'em on! It's never too early to introduce your little knee-biters to the joys of democracy!

Last minute details for anyone coming to the big blowout
- Some on-street parking will be available around the Cusina, but the easy way to do it is to park in the parking garage across the street from the party. Enter on Alder between 3rd and 4th. They have a flat rate of $2.50 on Tuesday nights, so it will be cheap AND easy.
- We’ll have the Tom Dwyer Courtesy Shuttle at the party for those who have celebrated a little too much. If you need a ride home because you’ve had too much to drink, we’ll have it covered. There’s no excuse for driving drunk no matter who wins.
- We’re organizing a political trivia contest that will run through the night. If you know so much about obscure political facts that your spouse and friends run screaming, here’s a chance to show off for people who care.
- Finally, we’ll be giving away door prizes throughout the night. We’ll have signed progressive books, Carbon Neutral Program memberships supplied by Bonneville Environmental, oil changes, and maybe even more.
- What more can we do? Are you one of those mythical “undecideds”? Then decide NOW! Come on down and have a great time! We’ll see you there!
